NEW YORK — The United States has hit a 10-year high in drug shortages, according to a presenter at the Infectious Diseases in Children Symposium.
Erin R. Fox, PharmD, BCPS, associate chief pharmacy officer in shared services at University of Utah Health and adjunct professor at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy, suggested prescribing different strengths and alternatives to get around shortages for patients.
“This is a problem I’ve been working on for over 20 years,” Fox says in the above video. “Shortages are here to stay, but we do have a good toolkit.”
