A Monticello yoga company has opened a permanent location.
Yoga Off the Square has long operated as a pop-up in downtown Monticello, but is now permanently located at 208 W. Washington St.
Owner Josie Heck, who teaches classes with the help of Jane Kupp-ler, said she moved into the premises on June 1st.
“We also have two other teachers who will start in August: Lori Lilly and Danielle Click, ”said Heck.
Yoga Off the Square offers at least one class per day, with two classes on Saturdays.
“If you’ve never tried yoga, you can take a class, ”said Heck.
If you come by to do yoga, it is $ 12 an hour. Heck describes her lessons as “beginner-friendly”.
Their customers range from babies to 80-year-olds.
“But we also offer class packages, ”she said. “Students can buy a five-class class card for $ 55 or ten classes for $ 100.”
Yoga Off the Square also offers senior discounts.
Heck said she started practicing yoga eight years ago.
I was looking for a fitness regimen, ”she said. “I was on vacation and attended a course every day. It was an eye opener right away. “
Heck says she believes there is a strong market for yoga in Piatt County.
“There is a need for a yoga studio in Monticello and the city doesn’t have one, ”she said. “The people of Monticello were more than wonderful.”
