Sanford, Lewis planning development in northeast Sioux Falls – SiouxFalls.Business

Nov 4, 2021

Sanford Health and Lewis Drug are planning new locations in northeast Sioux Falls.

The development is slated for more than 12 acres at the northwest corner of Madison Street and Veterans Parkway.

Sanford currently is planning a 16,000-square-foot, single-story multidisciplinary clinic with family medicine, women’s, pediatric and therapy services along with a lab and radiology.

“While plans for this land are not finalized, Sanford is working with the city to rezone this land for future use,” Paul Hanson, president of Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, said in a statement. “As the community of Sioux Falls continues to grow, we want to ensure we are there for our patients by providing excellent access to health care.”

The Lewis Drug on the site will include a pharmacy and be comparable to those the retailer has built alongside other Sanford locations, CEO Mark Griffin said.

Sanford previously had announced plans for a 42,000-square-foot clinic at 57th Street and Veterans Parkway right before the start of the pandemic in early 2020. The plan had been to start construction that fall and be done around now, but work has not started yet. That development also was planned to include Lewis Drug at a scale similar to the combined clinic and store that opened in recent years at 32nd Street and Ellis Road.

More information will be provided on both locations next year, Sanford representatives said.
