Visitors to the festival can expect a family-friendly atmosphere with activities such as chess, drawing and speaking competitions, as well as yoga, business, entrepreneurship and health seminars.

“There will be stalls with vendors promoting their food, music competitions and paintings,” said Jagan Bhargave, a founding member of the IACA. “There will also be dance competitions and arts competitions that encourage young people to participate in social activities, especially those where they can showcase Indian culture.”

At its core, the Festival of India, which is taking place for the 25th time, celebrates the contributions made by American Indians to Georgia.

“If you are successful, you are helping the country to be successful,” said Akkineni. “We contribute to this as responsible citizens. Focus on your growth, the growth of your family, the growth of your city, the growth of your state, and the growth of your country. “

To celebrate the occasion and the diamond anniversary of Indian independence, Governor Brian Kemp has declared August 15th India Day in Georgia.

In his proclamation, Kemp acknowledges the contributions of Native American Americans, saying in part: “In his 15th Diamond Jubilee year, democracy, tolerance and the rule of law were inspiration and hope for people around the world, including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. from Atlanta, who was inspired by the principles of Gandhi. “
