North Nashville lands juice and yoga business | Retail
Health and wellness company InnerG opens in the Buchanan Arts District in North Nashville on Friday, July 9th.
According to a press release, the business, which will focus on nutritional juices and yoga classes, will be based in 1807 Ninth Ave. N. The company is owned by married couple Nielah Burnett and Trey Roberts.
InnerG has been operating as a juice subscription service since 2017. According to the release notes, the stationary location will continue to offer a larger selection of menu items and daily yoga sessions. InnerG’s menu includes cold-pressed juices that are “freshly hand-made” every day.
Nielah Burnett (pictured), inspired to improve her health after losing a child, said InnerG will also offer free health classes in juicing and yoga.
The juice and yoga shop will house the Van Leer Photo Studio and Trenches Clothing off one building. It is across Ninth Avenue from Jones Paideia Elementary Magnet School and close by is Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria.
“InnerG should have a home in North Nashville,” said Burnett. “We looked for places along Jefferson Street and near Fisk, but our idea wasn’t well received by the property owners. We considered East Nashville, Antioch, and Madison, but we didn’t feel comfortable with the residents or the business districts connected in these areas. ” .
“When Slim and Huskies officially opened its first location, we knew immediately we had to open on Buchanan,” she added. “They showed us that a company can thrive in a rapidly changing neighborhood while focusing on its target audience. Even with Slim and Huskies, Willie Bs, Southern V, and Minerva, North Nashville is still considered a food wasteland. We knew fresh juice would help change that narrative. It’s also a bonus that the building we live in was once a grocery store. We have our chance to help revitalize a once thriving neighborhood. “
A company affiliated with David Crabtree, executive vice president of Nashville-based real estate company Brookside Properties, owns the building from which InnerG will operate. The property has an alternative address: 904 Buchanan St.
