This year’s class of women-led, high-growth companies in the US and Canada spans a variety of industries, with a particularly strong presence among companies that offer sustainable, environmentally friendly solutions. The companies also focus on technology-driven solutions across a variety of industries ranging from higher education to executive coaching, food and beverage, health and wellness, and more. The jury for the Class of 2021 consisted of Beth Ferreira, General Partner at FirstMark Capital; Naomi Whittel, founder of Reservage Nutrition and best-selling author; David Liu, serial entrepreneur and consultant; and Lara O’Connor Hodgson, Co-Founder and CEO of Now Corp.
“We are proud to welcome another class of dedicated, strategic, and ambitious founders to EY’s entrepreneurial ecosystem,” said Maranda Bruckner, Entrepreneurial Winning Women North America Program Lead, Ernst & Young LLP. “We are honored to have the opportunity to nurture these entrepreneurs with resources, guidance, and community to help them scale their businesses, support their missions, and achieve their goals.” The Class of the Year 2021 will be this one Week officially recognized as part of the EY Strategic Growth Forum®, one of the most prestigious gatherings of high-growth, market-leading companies in the country.
The North America program is for women entrepreneurs who are CEOs of US or Canadian private companies who are 10 years old or younger. The company’s revenue is typically between a minimum of $ 2 million and up to $ 30 million per year.
“It is critical that we focus on women entrepreneurs and promote female entrepreneurship,” said Cheryl Grise, director of EY Americas Solutions, who also acts as executive sponsor for women entrepreneurs in North America. “The Winning Women program illustrates how women-run businesses can reach their full potential and have an immediate and lasting impact in all sectors and around the world when systemic barriers are removed. The successes that female founders who are part of this community have built individually and together are numerous and impressive. We are proud to be part of their journey. “
Entrepreneurial Winning Women regularly take part in additional workshops, conferences and training courses. You will become part of the global EY community of more than 800 women entrepreneurs in 49 countries and on every continent and connect with our vast community of EY Entrepreneur Of The Year ™ alumni around the world. In a recent survey of the program’s impact on their success, 80% of winners said it had a positive impact on their confidence and leadership skills to grow their businesses. 66% said the program helped them grow and lead their team, and more than half said the program affected their willingness to take risks to grow their business.
“For more than 35 years, EY has been connected to great entrepreneurs around the world,” said Lee Henderson, America’s EY private leader. “It is a privilege to be part of these entrepreneurs’ business trips. We believe that every entrepreneur should have the opportunity to be available to every entrepreneur, and the Entrepreneurial Winning Women program supports our goal of closing the gender gap in entrepreneurship. “
