The Biden administration will distribute more than 25 million masks across the country to improve mask compliance.
White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Jeff Zients During a press conference at the White House, he said the masks will be shipped to more than 1,300 community health centers and 60,000 pantries in March to help improve the playing field for low-income Americans who may have difficulty accessing masks that comply with CDC guidelines .

“Any American in need of a mask can go to these health centers or pantries and pick up high-quality American-made masks,” Zients said during the briefing.
Zients said all masks will be free to the public, made from CDC-standard fabric, and available in both child and adult sizes. He said the initiative will be an important step in meeting the government’s “100-day mask challenge.”
Rochelle Walensky
“One of the most powerful things we can do is wear a mask,” said CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, MD, MPH, said during the briefing. “This is so important at this critical time when cases are falling but variants that are more easily spread are increasing in our country.”
