Everywhere we see people relentlessly longing for their next trip, and as a result, several global hotel chains have jumped ahead during the pandemic and cut the ribbon on their newest hotels. Whether sea, sand, sun or mountains, we are sure that at least one of these hotels can satisfy your next travel desire.

As the first Fusion Original branded hotel, Fusion Original Saigon Center will occupy 146 rooms in one of the city’s most iconic buildings. The hotel’s architectural design reflects a youthful, whimsical design ethos, expressed through bold colors and artistic touches. These can be seen in the exemplary polyart walls in the common areas, the traditional lotus flowers on the ceiling and the textured windows. As for the facilities at the hotel, guests can enjoy a large outdoor pool on the 6th floor surrounded by a tropical vertical garden and find tranquility at The Nest Lounge, tucked away from the busy street just outside. It is highly recommended for guests whose top priority is to see and experience Ho Chi Minh City’s cultural highlights, shopping malls, restaurants and bars.

Chiang Mai is about to open its first post-pandemic five-star hotel with Meliá, a hotel chain originating from Spain. Aside from the luxurious but understated design it offers, the hotel is dotted with several interesting features for guests to enjoy. A must is Chiang Mai’s highest rooftop bar on the 22nd floor – Mai The Sky Bar – which towers high above the Ping River and Doi Suthep Temple. Other dining options include Mediterranean Mai Restaurant & Bar and Northern Thai Laan Na Kitchen. The hotel is also equipped with a swimming pool, fitness center, ballroom, meeting rooms and the rejuvenating YHI Spa.

Anantara opens its third property in Indonesia in the heart of Bali. The property on this heavenly island will be known as Anantara Ubud Bali Resort and will consist of 85 guest rooms and villas and 15 Anantara branded residences. This sanctuary is set amidst tropical jungle, verdant paddy fields, Hindu temples and shrines, so rest assured you will be greeted with breathtaking landscapes on every hectare of the resort.

Unlike its Maldives outpost, Patina Ubud Bali adopts a minimalist design in neutral tones to showcase the greenery outside the windows. The hotel buildings are arranged in cascades to the sacred Wos River with 102 guestrooms and common areas overlooking the river and rainforest. As close to nature as it is, however, this riverside resort is a short walk from Ubud’s city center, where ancient Hindu temples and a range of restaurants can also be explored.

Singapore’s renowned Raffles is about to open its second outpost in the country on Sentosa Island. It is Singapore’s first all-villa hotel and comprises 62 villas with a private pool and terrace area in each villa. The beautiful property is rumored to include a bar, fitness center, restaurants and ballrooms for celebrations and meetings. The world-renowned Raffles Spa and Raffles Butlers, 24-hour butler service, will also be available.

Regent Phu Quoc offers a romantic getaway on the west coast of the popular island with minimalist villas and suites. Located adjacent to the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, guests can expect luxurious interior designs that complement the silky sand and azure sea just outside their floor-to-ceiling glass windows. After opening The Standard’s first hotel in Thailand in Hua Hin, Miami-based hotel chain The Standard is preparing its first outpost in the capital, Bangkok Mahanakhon. This much-anticipated hotel will serve as The Standard’s Asia flagship, aiming to bring youthfulness and vibrancy to our restless city. Located in the tallest building in the city, The Standard Bangkok Mahanakhon will house 155 guest rooms alongside New York’s popular The Standard Grill, Mott 32 (a Hong Kong-based Cantonese restaurant), Rooftop Restaurant and Bar and The Tea Room.

Explore the history of Chinese heritage in the capital of Jiangsu Province at the soon-to-be-opened Mandarin Oriental Nanjing. Located on the Qinhuai River, the hotel is within walking distance of historical attractions such as the Ming Dynasty Chinese Gate, Confucius Temple District and the Ancient East Gate. Inside the building, the 106 rooms and suites offer guests optimal comfort with views of the river and the old city walls through the windows. A Chinese restaurant, bars, and meeting facilities make the list here, along with Mandarin Oriental’s spa and indoor pool.

The newest hotel in the capital of the archipelagic state is the Park Hyatt Jakarta. The property has 220 rooms with all the facilities to accommodate guests, including an outdoor pool, 24-hour fitness center and an authentic spa. all on the top 17 floors of the MNC Land Tower in the heart of Jakarta. One of the biggest highlights is certainly the Kita Restaurant and Bar. Authentic but imaginative, the restaurant serves different types of modern Japanese delicacies, from sashimi to shabu-shabu. On the other hand, Kita Bar will undoubtedly become a popular place to relax as it is the perfect place to watch the sunset in central Jakarta.

There is no brick or glass here, as the entire resort is built from bamboo and recycled ironwood. As for culinary highlights, Open Kitchen is a zero-waste restaurant offering 70% plant-based foods, while Botanist Bar features locally grown produce from the resort’s gardens.

Alila Dalit Bay, an eco-resort slated to open on Malaysia’s north coast, is located not far from Kota Kinabalu, right in front of 17 hectares of white sand beach. The beach resort consists of 152 suites and 74 villas with private pool and gardens surrounded by panoramic views of Mengkabong River.
