She even shared that she was really good at losing weight, but she was unable to maintain it over the long term and she was “miserable” doing it.
She began using the practices and tools we teach in The Mindful Nutrition Method ™, and this she shared just a few months later. She was able to let go of the diets and finally find the balance, peace, ease and consistency that she had been looking for for so long.
“I really believe that this changed my life. I have stopped feeling miserable and genuinely depressed and very stressed out about food, now I am excited to cook and eat and yes there are not that many worries, I feel more alive. I feel happier and healthier which is my goal. “

The challenge: cycling between restriction and bingeing
Kristin really focused on her weight and appearance, and when it came to her food choices, this was usually the guide to what she ate.
“I’ve struggled with food for most of my life, most of my adult life,” she said. “I think, like most people, I’ve been worried about my weight, how I look and what I eat.”
Kristin felt like she was constantly trying to lose or control her weight and it resulted in her being on a cycle of going all-in and restricting and monitoring what she ate without being able to be that way of eating and feeling bad. Track.
“I kept going back and forth from the restriction to the completely other end of that spectrum, I bit a lot,” she shared. “I’m really good at losing weight – I know how to lose weight, it keeps it up and feels good in the process because the way I know how to lose weight isn’t fun, I don’t think so that it is healthy and honest I am quite miserable most of the time. “
What did not support your goals or long-term wellbeing?
Kristin came to us after trying so many diets and plans to find something that would finally stick.
“I can’t tell every diet under the sun, but certainly many of them, most of which are obviously restrictive and focus on restricting certain foods, whether those foods or calories or groupings of foods, fat, carbohydrates, or cycling are. ”

Kristin shared that she finally realized that a restrictive or regulated way of eating would not be sustainable in the long run.
“It just doesn’t work for me in the long term and I can’t imagine that many people can hold out for a very long time. But even if they can, it is not comfortable, it is not fun to live. “

One of the elements that helped Kristin let go of dieting and eating rules was replacing those old habits with a new, more supportive way of feeding yourself.

2. Refresh thoughts with food
The second element Kristin has been working on is transforming her thoughts with food. One of the pillars of our Mindful Nutrition Method ™ is Mindful Mindset. This is about maintaining a positive relationship with food.
Our members are guided through exercise and given tools to reformulate all the negative and unsupportive thoughts, beliefs and habits they have about eating and move on to more positive thinking.

3. Guidance and support from a registered nutritionist and coach
Kristin knew that if she wanted to end this cycle for good, she needed that guide hand to support, hold her accountable and guide her so as not to be drawn back into these old behaviors.
She said, “I worked with Erica (NS Coach). I meet with her once a month for 20 minutes, and that accountability has really helped me a lot. And then, when a problem arises for me, she is very good at addressing it and giving me different options to choose from this work that is best for me. “
