Local investors were among the supporters.
The company intends to use the funds to expand digital marketing and continue developing its research databases on the treatment of personalized nutrition, health and wellness, and chronic metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome.
Founded in 2016 by Yi Sherry Zhang, Ph.D. GenoPalate is a geneticist and former professor at Medical College in Wisconsin. The company offers nutrigenomics testing and analysis services for health conscious consumers who want to choose a healthy diet. Using proprietary algorithms, the company interprets the customer’s DNA to create a personalized nutritional profile that shows them which foods are good and which are bad for their health. The Home Diet DNA Test analyzes over 100 genetic markers that determine a person’s specific needs for vital nutrients such as carbohydrates, vitamin D, and sodium. Combined with millions of nutritional variables, it creates a personalized report recommending foods that will have the greatest health benefits.
